General Rules

Please check what season it is, and do not assume it is always spring.
No powerplaying / autoing / god-modeling.
You may have as many character as you want, but you have to keep them all active.
Cursing is allowed IC but not OOC, but do not abuse this or I will take this away.
No sexist talk. No racist talk. And no being rude to members or staff.
I would like to discourage people from making a stallion/mare and finding a mate and then not playing them again and making a new character and doing this. If I see this happening I'll give you a warning. Not every character you makes has to find 'true love'. Please roleplay all of your characters and keep them active.
Be courteous and kind to other players and staff members. If the staff members give you a ruling, you must obey it. If you have further problems, send a PM to the admin.

Posting

All IC posts should be at least 5 lines long. (which can vary between 80 and 110 words). When posting, include thoughts, feelings, how your character looks, how it tends to act, whats going on in the world around it, etc. This will help you be able to post longer. If you need more help refer to the board Roleplaying Help. There are some thread there which can help you.

Creation of Characters

You do not need to wait to be accepted ,except if you are applying for a high position
Keep your character realistic.
When creating a character, you must follow the form provided, but you may add things to it.
Keep heights realistic. An Arabian is not 16 hh. A quarter horse is not 16.2 hh. Ponies are 14hh and lower. Very rarely do horses get past 17 or 18 hh. I don't want a million horses running around when they are all 20hh tall as this is not realistic. It can happen, but you need special permission for this.

Claiming

Your stallion must be at least 3 years old to claim lands.
But do not go over the top or you will receive a warning.
Each user is only allowed to have one stallion claim one land per alliance. You can not have two of your characters owning two lands under the same alliance. [instead your stallion could go join another stallion's herd]
Please post a claiming post and then your herd stats.
You need a staff member to approve of your claim.
You must post in your lands at least once every week.(unless you are gone and then a staff member will post saying that) If you don't a staff member will move all of your threads to 'Ancient Grounds' and your land will become open for anyone to claim.

Challenging

Stallions may challenge for land or mares.
Mares may challenge for positions within a herd.
You must notify the member that owns the land/mare plus a staff member by PM
If the owner does not post within 3 days (unless he has posted in 'Going Away') then you win by default.

Fighting

Both mares and stallions may fight, they can fight each other, or one of the same gender.
A stallion will not always win against a mare.
Remember no Power playing or god modeling!

Stealing

A steal last 7 days.
If a stallion is unable to guess the equine being stolen within 3 days, the mare or foal belongs to the stealer.
You may steal mares, foals. (one at a time, and never the lead stallion)
You may not steal lands.
Only 1 steals per week.
You may not post a steal for a mare or foal if there has already been a steal for a mare/foal in that's same herd. Only one steal for every herd in a week.
You may not steal the lead mare when you do steal the mare you must give the stallion 3 hints

Breeding and Birthing

No graphic breeding whatsoever!
Force breeding is allowed the stallion may powerplay a little. But do not go over the top or you will receive a warning.
You do not have to roleplay the breeding, just as long as both parents agree.
You do not have to role play the birth, but can if you wish.
Birthing may not be graphic

Stallion

There may stallions living on the same land at the same time. Thats is called a bachelor herd.
Stallions may claim mares.
Stallions may force claim mares.(on the appropriate board)
Stallions may have a herd with as many members in it as they can get.
Stallions may claim lands.
Stallions can only claim lands at age 3.
Only lead stallions may breed.( I am sry,but that is how it is in RL.)
Stallions are allowed to make rules for their herd land and the members of their herd land, But his rules will not over power any rules that are here.

Mare

Mares can escape from a stallion or herd that they don't want to be in.
Mares can be forcebred.
Mares cannot claim land.
Mares can foal when they are 3 years old.
Mares may mate at age 2 but will not have a foal.
If you abandon your foal, it can go to the Adoption Lands or it can attempt to live by itself. But there is a high risk that the foal will die.
After you have been bred you must wait a min of a week to have the foal and a max of 3 weeks. If you have the foal before this time it will be considered a mis-carriage. And, of course, if you wait to long the foal will be born still (dead).

Foals

Foals are full grown at the age of 3 years old.
When you have a foal you have the choice to either roleplay it or give it to someone else to roleplay.
You may place it up in Characters for Adoption so someone else can roleplay it.
Foals live with their parents until they are full grown. When a colt is fullgrown, it should move on and find its own land to live in. Colts must find a herd of their own. Fillies must join another herd ,due to the fact that there is only one breeding stallion in the herd, the fillies father.

I'm going to add to this Willow. Very good though. EVERYTHING WILLOW SAYS STILL APPLIES IM JUST GOING TO GO MORE IN DEPTH!

Stealing!

Now. One stallion leads every herd. Other stallions can be a part of the herd or be 'ghosts'. Ghosts are stallions that follow a herd and live close by it for protection. The lead stallion, if feeling threatened will often chase them away but usually they return. Ghost stallions are sometimes there to work on stealing a mare. Stallions that are a member of the herd but dont lead it are submissive to the lead mare and stallion. They are not allowed to breed with mares. Sometimes they manage to though! They often get banned soon after though.

Stallions the protect a herd. They dont technically 'lead' it. That is the mares job. During regular seasons lead stallions do not try and steal mares! lone mares join herds but stallions do not have time to steal mares.

Rogue stallions often follow herds and on this site are known as 'ghost' horses. Sometimes they are just there for the herds protection. Other times they are there waiting for the right moment to breed with a mare or to steal a mare.

During the spring all the herd and rogue horses go to the battle grounds. Here it is a free for all! stallions can steal, breed, fight for herd, while mares can get covered, be stolen, or even leave their herd for a stallion of their choice.

Fights!

Stallions will fight stallions for land, mares, and to protect their herd, themselves, or their mares.

Mares can fight off rogue mares off, and fight to raise their position in the herd.

Breeding/Foaling!

For those of you who dont know horses do not breed until the mare goes into 'heat'. This is when she begins giving off sign that she is ready to breed. Stallions can scent a mare in heat from miles away. Within the herd usually only the lead stallion breeds with the mare. The first time the mare does not always become pregnant so horses usually breed more than once while the mare is in heat. This is why often a mare does not always has the lead stallions foal. Other studs will come to her scent and she may breed to more than one stallion while she is heat.

Breeding cannot be graphic. Like Willow said stallions can force the breeding but it still must be allowed between the two members.

Foaling cannot be graphic either! Twins are a rare occurance. They do sometimes happen though so keep twin foals to a minimum please.

Horses!

K Everyone please make sure you read this part!

Wild horses are not going to be perfect arabians! You can have that as your image but remember. These are WILD horses. Not show horses. Another thing.

Do not make many wild rogue mares. In real life it would be rare that you found a mare alone in the wild. Usually only stallions will be alone and even a lone horse is rare! usualy they are with bachelor herds. Just keep this in mind when making your horses.
